The Tabard Theatre Company is seeking video audition submissions from vaccinated performers. In-person callbacks will be held for each show.
Submission Deadline for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is December 31.
Once and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang are both Non-Union Shows. Jive The Musical! has 2 AEA contracts available. See below for more information on each show.
Audition Video Submissions:
- Please introduce yourself before your audition pieces (i.e. First and Last Name, Name of Audition Pieces).
- Film one monologue and one song totaling no more than 4 minutes. Make sure you are filming your full body.
- If you are not a singer, please film two contrasting monologues totaling no more than 4 minutes.
- Upload your audition to a video sharing site such as YouTube or Vimeo (ensure sharing is set to allow anyone access to your video. Private links are fine, just no passwords).
- Complete and submit our audition form HERE.
We are a non-union company. All roles are volunteer positions with per diems for food and gas, with the exception of Jive The Musical! See below for details.

Rehearsal Schedule: Specific rehearsal and performance schedules will vary for each show, but we generally rehearse for 3 to 5 weeks, 3 hours a day on weekdays and one 5 hour rehearsal over the weekends.
Performance Schedule: Performances for Mainstage shows are generally four weeks, Thu-Fri at 8pm, Saturday at 3pm and/or 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tech rehearsals start the weekend prior to opening.

Join us for the most FANTASMAGORICAL musical in the history of everything! Based on the beloved 1968 film about the out-of-this-world car that flies through the air and sails the seas, and featuring an unforgettable score by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins)—including five new songs not in the film— this is one adventure that the whole family will find “Truly Scrumptious.”
Character Breakdown:
Boris– Any gender, Age 20 to 60. Tenor The leader of a pair of incompetent Vulgarian spies working for the
Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria.
Goran– Any gender, Age 20 to 60. Baritone/Tenor The sidekick of a pair of incompetent Vulgarian spies working for the Baron and Baroness of Vulgaria.
Baroness Bomburst– Female-identifying, Age 25 to 40. Mezzo Soprano Head of the Vulgarian Parliament and a hater of children. She is tyrannical and dramatic.
Baron Bomburst– Male-identifying, Age 30 to 50. Baritone Tyrannical ruler of Vulgaria and a lover of toys. A manchild, he is very immature and needy.
The Child Catcher– Any gender, Age 30 to 70. Non-singing Role He makes sure that Vulgaria is child-free. He is evil(but not over the top scary) and manipulative.
Grandpa Potts– Male-identifying, Age 50 to 80. Baritone Caractacus Potts’ father, A former war hero. He loves to tell old war stories. He is the grandfather of Jeremy and Jemima.
Truly Scrumptious– Female-identifying, Age 20 to 40. Mezzo Soprano Daughter of the famous candy maker, Lord Scrumptious. She is strong, independent, and kind.
Jeremy Potts– Male-identifying, Age 9 to 13. Treble Caractacus’ son. Adventurous, with an active imagination.
Jemima Potts–Female-identifying, Age 8 to 12. Soprano Caractacus’ daughter. Adventurous, with an active imagination
Caractacus Potts–Male-identifying, Age 30 to 45. Baritone An eccentric, brilliant, English inventor and loving father and son. His inventions and children are his life.
Ensemble–Any gender, Age 9 to 90. All vocal ranges We are looking for 3 to 5 children and 3 to 5 adults to play roles of Children, Inventors, Soldiers and Townspeople.
